Inspired Spaces Episode 2: Cheryl Torrenueva

Sep 17, 2013

Cheryl Torrenueva talks with us about her recent commercial project - transforming the 6th Street Pub N Grill from an Irish Pub to a trendy Austin inspired restaurant.

Cheryl sheds light on the importance of the flooring to realize her vision of combining rustic elements with modern elegant tastes.

Cheryl Torrenueva:

“Flooring is always missed. To me, if I wanted to go for a more rustic feel you think of reclaimed wood. But when you think of restaurants and commercial settings – you can’t just put reclaimed wood on the floor and think it’s going to last for ever.

What I love about each plank is that everyone is different – so it has character.

Also, I know that my contractors love me when I specify this product”

But her big break came when she was chosen to be the feisty on-camera Design Project Manager for HGTV's Colin & Justin's Home Heist. “When we got her audition tape, it was a slam dunk!” explains Michelle Kosoy, production executive for Home Heist. And it is no surprise that Colin & Justin themselves, feel the same: “Cheryl will be the first lady of Canadian television!” they say when asked about their femme-fatale co-host.
