Karndean Designflooring, the global interiors company supplying luxury vinyl flooring to residential and commercial markets will be in the spotlight at the Interior Design Show in Toronto from 23-26 January 2014.
Interior designer, Cheryl Torreneuva who made her mark on hit shows like HGTV’s Colin & Justin’s Home Heist and Food Network Canada’s Restaurant Takeover has integrated LooseLay Montana from Karndean Designflooring into her See The Light exhibit.
See The Light concept spaces feature iconic lighting brands from around the world. Torreneuva is one of four designers that partnered with a leading lighting manufacturer to feature lighting as the driving force behind the interior design of a space.
Presented by Luminart, inspired by the Nemo Cassina line of lighting, the installation “demonstrates the overall character and vision of Nemo Cassina – pushing forward a classic, yet contemporary luminous concept, in an urban environment,” explains Torreneuva.
“The exhibit is designed to showcase depth and character – and with so many classic and sophisticated pieces in the booth the flooring adds an almost-industrial feeling – I love the colouring and that it looks like blocks of slate,” continues Torreneuva.
“Since the flooring is loose laid it doesn’t need adhesive, it took less than two hours to install and I know from previous projects I can count on Karndean for durability – we are expecting 100,000 people to visit the exhibit over the next couple of days,” said Torreneuva.

Torreneuva also recently talked with GO Resilient, the exclusive Canadian distributor for Karndean Designflooring about a recent commercial project - transforming an Irish Pub into a trendy Austin inspired restaurant.
About the Interior Design Show
The Interior Design Show is Canada’s premier showcase of new products, innovative designers and avant-garde concepts.
In January 1999, the first Interior Design Show opened its doors to an enthusiastic design community, media world and consumer market. An important milestone for Canada's design scene, the first show brought together 25,000 visitors, who came to see Wallpaper* magazine founder Tyler Brulé, Droog's Gijs Bakker and furniture designer Holly Hunt.
After 15 years, the Interior Design Show has become one of the most successful recurring design events in Canadian history and over the years has inspired over 660,000 visitors. Attendance has almost double since the show’s inception, and international designers and architects travel from around the world to stand on the IDS main stage.
In 2012, the Interior Design Show was purchased by Informa, the largest publically-owned organizer of exhibitions, expositions and training events in the world. With 150 offices in 40 countries, Informa brings together over a million professionals each year. The newly formed Informa Canada manages over 53 tradeshows, consumer shows and conferences around the country, serving the construction, real estate, craft, art and design markets.
